Combined Services @ Larkhill 18th Feb
The Combined Services point to point, to be run at Larkhill on Sunday 18th February, has got a similar card to last years new design with a few tweaks to accommodate peoples concerns.
- The Coronation Cup has had its prize money doubled to £2000, with winner taking £1000 down to 4th getting £200, in line with its classic status.
- The Novice Conditions and Conditions races, which are open to all, have had their conditions eased.
- The 2.5 mile maiden, open to those who have run in points at least 4 times before, remains aimed at those who find limited opportunities early in the season, and it hopes to build further after a successful first year. NB the winner won the restricted at Umberleigh.
They have also developed the mementoes further, providing crates of Stonehenge Ales to the winning yards as well as a fine collection of mementoes and bottles of spirits to the winning owners.
The course itself has recovered well from the last meeting; bends and the last fence will be moved to provide fresh ground. The current weather forecast is set fair, and over 20 food and tradestands have asked to come.
Look forward to seeing you there
