Brian Young
It is with sadness that we have to report that Brian Young died suddenly last Friday 3 March. Brian who was 87 was the husband of Heather and stepfather to point –to-point trainer Stuart Penny. He was a well- known regular at Wessex point-to-point meetings and attended the Countryside Alliance (Wessex) meeting last Sunday at Badbury Rings.
He took over the ownership of Quedillac trained by Stuart after Hazel Goody decided to relinquish her ownership of the horse and enjoyed two wins from the Larkhill specialist in 2015. He was also involved with Trueflyingcolours, another stalwart of Stuart’s stable and a regular runner at Larkhill. Brian used to farm at Penselwood near Wincanton up to about 3 years ago until retiring to Henstridge. He will be much missed and condolences go to Heather and Stuart and all of his family.
His funeral details are not yet known and more information will follow at a later date.
