Cheltenham Foxhunters Update
The victory of Ask the Weatherman in the Stewart Tory Memorial Hunter Chase at Wincanton on Thursday keeps on track his planned tilt at the Cheltenham Foxhunters in March. His jumping on his first venture over regulation fences was excellent and he saw off the challenge of the highly rated Rebel Rebellion with the minimum of fuss. His partnership with Will Biddick now reads ten races and nine victories.
The form of his victory over Ceasar Milan at the beginning of January was franked when Ceasar Milan ran out an easy winner of the Mens Open at the Royal Artillery meeting. Trained by Rose Loxton she had news about her high class inmate from last season namely Current Event. He had left her stable to be prepared for his sporting owner Sheikh Fahad Al Thani to ride in the Newmarket Town Plate but this did not take place as the horse suffered a minor injury just before the race. Much to Rose’s delight the Sheikh has returned the gelding to her care and his aim will be the Cheltenham Foxhunters in which he finished a highly creditable fourth to On the Fringe beaten less than three lengths. He also finished fourth to the same horse in the Aintree Foxhunters. His reappearance in a point to point will be eagerly awaited
