Tanner's Champagne February Moment of the Month - Rachel Bartlett
This has been given to Rachel Bartlett, the owner/breeder and trainer of Dorset Diamond successful at Badbury Rings on 18th February.
Ridden by Will Biddick for Rachel, it was a very emotional victory for Rachel who had been given the dam of Dorset Diamond, Bobby’s Choice by the late Richard Miller and this was the gelding’s first ever victory. Watched by Michael Miller, son of Richard, who acted as the starter for the meeting, he was one of the first to congratulate Rachel on her success.
The dam had won for Rachel at the same meeting in 2013 which was her previous winner. Best known for training the prolific Fair Wind who won seven point to points and three Hunter Chases including the Coronation Gold Cup in 2005 when partnered by Rilly Goschen.
With her daughter Lilian now riding Rachel has been a long-term supporter of pointing in the Wessex area and it is appropriate that this award is given to Rachel.
it is hoped that the bottle of champagne will be presented to Rachel at her home meeting the Wilton @ milborne st Andrew on Saturday 16th March.
