Wessex Area Point to Point Association Pony Racing Training Day - Monday 24th October 2011, Stretcholt Farm Stud, Stretcholt, Nr Bridgwater, Somerset (approx 3 miles from J23 M5). 9.00 am - 4.00 pm. Cost £35 per place. Members of the Pony Club who are 9 years old or over are welcome to come along and see what Pony Racing is all about. Spaces will be limited so book early. YOUNG JOCKEYS PICK UP AWARDS AT PPORA ANNUAL LUNCH |

Matt Hampton won the WILKINSON SWORD (sponsored by The Weekender) at the PPORA awards luncheon on 27th May 2011 as the leading jockey of the season who prior to the start of the season had not ridden a winner. His 7 wins were acheived on 7 different horses and in addition he has ridden two hunter chase wiinners including one at Cheltenham.

The Wessex Area Pony Racing starts at The Blackmore & Sparkford Vale on March 13th 2011. We had a very successful training day at Stretcholt Farm on 21st February and we are hoping that we will see some new competitors come forward from that day. If you want to enter any of the pony races in the Wessex Area you will find the entry form on the PRA website at www.pra.gb.com the form must then be sent to me Ann Watts, Shepherds Rest, River Road, Pawlett, Bridgwater, TA6 4SE, together with a cheque for £15 made out to the Wessex Area Pony racing plus a SAE for all the details of the day to be sent to you.
The Novice final is for the combination of pony and rider who have not won, any pony race in any season prior to 2011, but can have won up to two races in 2011. The 138 & 148 Open Finals are to be at Cattistock Point to Point on May 2nd 2011. |
King's Troop RHA Club Members Race rescheduled |

| This race originally scheduled to run at the lost RA Meeting has been rescheduled and will run as the last race at the Combined Services meeting at Larkhill Racecourse on Saturday 19th February. The first race time remains unchanged. |

Royal Artillery Meeting |

| The Royal Artillery Point to Point Meeting has been cancelled tomorrow. the course was walked on Friday morning and it was decided it was unsafe to race on due to frozen ground. With even lower temperatures forecast tonight it is unlikely that there would be any significant improvement ahead of racing tomorrow. No decision has been made as to whether an alternative date will be looked for. |
